Tim LaBruyere

Executive Vice President

Tim joined Kimmel & Associates in 1993 and has provided diligent service throughout his career to leading companies in the commercial general construction and mining markets in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.

He earned a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kentucky. Prior to his career with Kimmel & Associates, he worked in the oil and gas exploration and production industry for 13 years.

In 2014, he was inducted into Kimmel & Associates’ Hall of Fame.

Tim has two grown children: a daughter, Rachel, and a son, J.T. (and his wife, Kendall; daughter, Lydia; and son, Aiden).

We sat down with Tim and asked him the following:

• What do you like most about working at Kimmel & Associates?
  Helping candidates grow their careers in an environment and culture they enjoy working in, and thus helping my clients find candidates who fit their culture and are more likely to build a career there.
• What is one thing you learned early in your career that has made you successful?
  That I have a lot more to learn. That is a constant – this job is dynamic, and new methods to success are always available if you are open to new ideas.
• What is your greatest strength in your role?
  Digging deep enough to find out the real reasons for a candidate to be ready for a change or a client to have a need.
• What makes you different from other recruiters in your industry?
  My years of experience being service-minded, direct, and transparent, and wanting to help candidates and clients.
• Describe the most rewarding experience of your career.
  Having heard from candidates many times that they will call only me if they are going to make a change.
• Favorite quote?

• What causes are you passionate about?
  Helping those I know and care about, if I can.
• Personal interests?
  I love being a grandfather and helping my son and daughter-in-law with their efforts at parenting. They are both absolutely great parents. My longest hobbies have been playing soccer and brewing beer. I quit both in late 2019. I’ll never get back to soccer as a player (knees), but I think I’ll get back to brewing in the next few years. I see golf clubs in my future to replace soccer.
