Elizabeth Strahan
Executive Vice President of Quality & AdministrationLizie first began her career with Kimmel & Associates at age 14, when she worked cleaning the company offices. She attended the College of Charleston from 1989 to 1991. When home for the summers, she worked at Kimmel & Associates as a part-time Office Assistant. She transferred to the University of North Carolina at Asheville and continued to study biology, continuing her work with Kimmel & Associates concurrently. She soon fell in love with her job and decided to devote all of her time to the company.
In many ways, Lizie acts as an extension of her stepfather, Joe, and her brother, CEO Charlie Kimmel. Lizie makes sure that all employees of Kimmel & Associates have the administrative support they need to better serve their clients and candidates.
We sat down with Elizabeth and asked her the following:
-
What do you like most about working at Kimmel & Associates?
That I can come in every day and help people, to truly serve this company, and mostly to continue my dad’s legacy in some small way. I am a part of a wonderful company that truly cares about its work, service to community and industry, and families. -
What is one thing you learned early in your career that has made you successful?
I learned quickly how to work out of my comfort zone. It has served me well in all aspects of my life. My dad also taught me early (though it took a while to stick) the true meaning of compassion and truly caring for and loving others. -
What is your greatest strength in your role?
I understand people well. I am expedient and conscientious. -
Describe the most rewarding experience of your career.
Truly, every day is rewarding. I have never once had a day where I dreaded coming to work. Every day, if I can touch just one person’s life, help them in some way, make them smile, help them figure out a problem they are having, lend a listening ear, or get a project done quickly for them, that is all I need. -
Do you have a favorite quote or movie?
Quote: “Never, never, never give up.” – Winston Churchill. I got this from my dad and this is the way I live my life. Each day is a new start for me.
Movie: Terms of Endearment. The meaningful love between the characters is a love that surpasses understanding, and the movie’s relationships represent the struggle, the repair, and the victory of love. -
What causes are you passionate about?
All things animal. -
Personal interests?
I love to work out, be on the water at the lake, and spend time with my husband (Chris), my son (Matthew), and my furry babies.
