David Goodrum
Executive Vice PresidentDavid began his career at Kimmel & Associates in 1999 and has occupied one desk and one territory throughout his tenure with the company. He is dedicated and diligent in his work with the heavy civil construction market, concentrating on clients in California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington.
David earned a BA in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Asheville.
In his work, he finds satisfaction in solving problems and serving to benefit a greater good for both organizations and individuals. Clients who work with him appreciate his ability to complete both executive-level and middle-management searches.
David and his wife, Jessica, have three daughters: Skylar, Ella, and Jane. In his free time, he enjoys staying in shape by mountain biking. He is also an avid music enthusiast and enjoys going to shows.

What do you like most about working at Kimmel & Associates?
I’m provided access to the tools and resources to do my job. -
What is one thing you learned early in your career that has made you successful?
Start fast (work long and hard), stay focused, serve all, and be adaptable. -
What is your greatest strength in your role?
Transparency and honesty. -
What makes you different from other recruiters in your industry?
I strive to keep everyone’s best interests at heart. I want to help while making a living. If I can’t marry those things together synchronously, I walk away and maintain relationships. -
Describe the most rewarding experience of your career.
Watching someone I placed 20+ years ago as a Project Engineer evolve and grow into a Vice President within the same company where I placed them. -
Do you have a favorite quote?
“Memento Mori” and/or “Amor Fati.” -
Personal interests?
Traveling anywhere with the family is good, and anything in the Pisgah Ranger district on a mountain bike is a favorite.
