Aimee Kling

Administrative Assistant/Content Specialist

Aimee began her career at Kimmel & Associates in 2013 as an Administrative Assistant. In 2017, concurrent with her existing role, she was named Content Specialist, giving her the opportunity to edit and ghost-write articles, blog posts, and other company content.

She earned bachelor’s degrees in English and Italian with a minor in Cinema Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has more than a decade of experience in administrative roles and is a lifelong writer.

Outside of the office, Aimee enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing with her beloved pets (a cat and a dog), reading, writing, exercising, and navigating the ups and downs of first-time homeownership.

We sat down with Aimee and asked her the following:

• What do you like most about working at Kimmel & Associates?
  When you work here, you're not just an employee. The company's leadership truly cares about each employee as an individual, and they want to support us and help us succeed in both our personal and professional lives. It's just a bonus that I LOVE what I do -- I can't believe how lucky I am to get to play with words and help people for a living!
• What is your greatest strength in your role?
  I'm very adaptable. I often joke that a career in admin means that your job description is, "...Sure, I can be an expert in that. Just give me a minute to Google it." For the content work, I just absolutely love writing and have always had a skill with words, so I can effectively tell stories for people using their voices with passion and clarity.
• Do you have a favorite book or quote?
  Book: I couldn’t possibly name a single favorite book, but my favorite book I’ve read recently has been The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune. It’s a beautiful blend of humor and heart, exploring the nature of what it means to be a family, what makes us human, and the beauty in being different and extraordinary. I also never grew out of my love for The Baby-Sitters Club!
  Quote: "I'd like to think the best of me is still hiding up my sleeve." - John Mayer (No Such Thing). I like it because it's hopeful and forward-thinking, which are mindsets it takes effort to cultivate, and this quote helps me remember to look inward and forward with hope and faith.
• What causes are you passionate about?
  Education, literacy, mental health, and animal welfare are particular passions of mine.
• Personal interests?
  I love all forms of storytelling, from books, TV shows, and movies to Dungeons and Dragons (I'm an avid player and novice Dungeon Master). I love going to concerts, and I have a soft spot for literally anything that ties into '90s nostalgia; I was absolutely born in the right era.
