We sat down with Todd and asked him the following:
-
What do you like most about working at Kimmel & Associates?
The way they treat their employees. -
What is one thing you learned early in your career that has made you successful?
I learned to look at this business as building a baseball team. Most people don’t make a jump from single-A teams to the majors, and not everyone can bat first or play the same roles. Companies and clients need us to meet their needs. -
What makes you different from other recruiters in your industry?
A strong knowledge of the industry and what companies typically expect or look for. I also work under the most prolific “hiring guru” in the industry, who has taught me more than most recruiters will ever learn in their careers. -
Share a successful placement story or describe the most rewarding experience of your career.
A client was building an aluminum smelting facility in Saudi Arabia. The project was projected to be over $10 billion – one part at $6 billion and another at $4 billion. They wanted us to find the lead person for each part of the job. What made this so tough is that aluminum smelting plants hadn’t been built in years, except in China, and most of them were built so long ago that the people who worked on them were likely retired. After lots of work, we found both of our candidates, and it was the largest placement of my career. -
Do you have a favorite quote?
One of my favorites is, “Let the light that shines inside you always be brighter than the light that shines on you.” - Dabo Swinney -
What causes are you passionate about?
Crossfire Ministries: They travel around the world using sports as a platform to share their faith, and I played for them for several years. -
Personal interests?
Love all sports, especially college softball. Huge Clemson Tiger and Atlanta Braves fan.
