We sat down with Colby and asked him the following:
-
What do you like most about working at Kimmel & Associates?
Being an instrument of meaningful change to people’s career projections and to companies’ profitability, and serving all the people I work alongside. -
What is one thing you learned early in your career that has made you successful?
Not to waste time – work hard on the things that your gut tells you have the strongest chance to be seen through to the finish line. -
What is your greatest strength in your role?
While I need to work on my craft daily, I feel my greatest strength is my ability to listen and discern the needs that are being sought. -
What can clients and candidates expect from you?
They can expect to work with someone who operates with heightened senses of morality, integrity, and honesty, and is constantly aware of everyone’s continual time crunch. -
Describe the most rewarding experience of your career.
This cannot be narrowed down to one particular time… It has been being able to have a continual impact on client and candidate growth. If I had to say one time: We performed a search for a CEO, and the group who was hiring decided to hire internally. They felt that we worked the search appropriately and paid us as if we made the placement. Effort, steadfastness, and an abundance of respect can pay off. -
What causes are you passionate about?
I am passionate about my Savior, Jesus Christ, and serving the church in every way that I can. Treating everyone with love and serving the greater good by taking myself out of the equation. Being a loving husband to my wife, Chelsea, and a present father to my 3 girls: Rowan, Hayes, and Mack. -
Personal interests?
Coaching my girls’ softball teams, golfing, hunting, and fishing take up most of my non-working time. I am very proud of my home and put time into taking care of it and my property (lawn care, vegetable gardening, etc.). I love to smoke big cuts of meat and have family over for quality time. Also love Auburn Tigers football and my Atlanta Braves.
